Honest "unknown"
When a mail server gives no reliable answer, the result is unknown. Claude is told never to count it as valid or invalid.
Works on your files

Your key, your credits
Claude uses your API key and your plan. Test first with the public sandbox key, which uses no credits.
How it works
Add the Easy Email Verification MCP server to Claude Code or Claude Desktop with your API key.
Ask Claude to verify an address, a list or the emails in a file.
Claude asks permission to use the tool (each address uses one credit), then calls verify_email or verify_emails (create_bulk_job for longer lists).
You get a table with valid, invalid or unknown, the reason and whether each address is safe to send to.
Set up
eev_sandbox_key with addresses at sandbox.easyemailverification.com.YOUR_API_KEY, then type /mcp in a new session to see eev connected.claude mcp add --transport http --scope user eev https://mcp.easyemailverification.com/mcp --header "X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY"
mcp-remote (requires Node.js). The exact block is in claude.md.Claude.ai in the browser is not supported yet: custom connectors there need a sign-in flow (OAuth) that we do not offer yet. The MCP server is in beta.

Your account and credits
Each verified address uses one credit from the account that owns the API key, except when the receiving server cannot be reached (reason no_connect). The sandbox key eev_sandbox_key is free.
For lists of thousands of addresses, upload the file with bulk list verification in the dashboard.

Which Claude apps are supported?
Claude Code (terminal and IDE extensions) and Claude Desktop through mcp-remote. Claude.ai in the browser is not supported yet, because it requires OAuth.
Where do I put my API key?
Only in the claude mcp add command or in the Claude Desktop config file. Never paste it into a conversation.
How many addresses can Claude verify at once?
Up to 50 per call with verify_emails. For up to 10,000, Claude can start a bulk job (create_bulk_job) and then read a summary; larger files go through bulk list verification in the dashboard.
Is there a Claude Code plugin?
Not yet. Today you add the MCP server with one command; a plugin is planned.
What does "unknown" mean?
The receiving mail server did not give a reliable answer (for example a timeout or a temporary block). Unknown is neither valid nor invalid; the reason says why.
