Beta Gemini CLI, via MCP

Easy Email Verification for Gemini

Add our MCP server to Gemini CLI and verify email addresses from the terminal: one address, a list, or the emails in a file, with the result, the reason and risk signals.

Set up Gemini CLI

Prompt: Read https://www.easyemailverification.com/gemini.md and help me connect Easy Email Verification to Gemini.

Why Easy Email Verification

Real mailbox checks

Syntax, domain, MX and mailbox (SMTP) checks on our servers, plus disposable, role, free provider and catch-all detection.

Honest "unknown"

When a mail server gives no reliable answer, the result is unknown, never reported as valid or invalid.

Works on your files

Verify the email column of a CSV, clean an export or check addresses before an import, right from the terminal.

Your key, your credits

Gemini uses your API key and your plan. Test first with the public sandbox key, which uses no credits.

How it works

1

Add the Easy Email Verification MCP server to ~/.gemini/settings.json with your API key.

2

Ask Gemini to verify an address, a list or the emails in a file.

3

Gemini asks to run the tool (each address uses one credit), then calls verify_email or verify_emails (create_bulk_job for longer lists).

4

You get valid, invalid or unknown, the reason and whether each address is safe to send to.

Set up

1
Get an API key. Create a free account and copy a key in API settings. To test first, use eev_sandbox_key with addresses at sandbox.easyemailverification.com.
2
Add the server to ~/.gemini/settings.json (your user file, so the key is never committed). The field is httpUrl, not url.
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "eev": {
      "httpUrl": "https://mcp.easyemailverification.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "X-API-Key": "YOUR_API_KEY" }
    }
  }
}
3
Check it: start gemini and type /mcp; eev should list its tools, starting with verify_email and verify_emails.
4
Prefer to be guided? Paste gemini.md into Gemini and it walks you through the setup.

The Gemini app at gemini.google.com is not supported yet: custom apps there need a sign-in flow (OAuth) that we do not offer yet. Developers using the Gemini API, AI Studio or Vertex AI can call our REST API: see agents.md. The MCP server is in beta.

Prompts to try

Verify john.smith@acme.com and tell me if it is safe to send to.

Check these addresses and tell me which ones to remove before my campaign: anna@example.org, sales@example.com, mark@gmial.com

Read contacts.csv, verify the email column and write the results to a new column.

Verify valid@sandbox.easyemailverification.com and invalid@sandbox.easyemailverification.com

Your account and credits

Each verified address uses one credit from the account that owns the API key, except when the receiving server cannot be reached (reason no_connect). The sandbox key eev_sandbox_key is free.

For lists of thousands of addresses, upload the file with bulk list verification in the dashboard.

FAQ

Which Gemini products are supported?

Gemini CLI, through our MCP server. The Gemini app (gemini.google.com) is not supported yet because it requires OAuth. There is no Easy Email Verification Gem.

Can I use it from the Gemini API, AI Studio or Vertex AI?

Yes, from your own code: call the Easy Email Verification REST API. Start at agents.md and openapi.json.

Where do I put my API key?

Only in ~/.gemini/settings.json. Never paste it into a conversation or a project file that is committed.

How many addresses can Gemini verify at once?

Up to 50 per call with verify_emails. For up to 10,000, Gemini can start a bulk job (create_bulk_job) and then read a summary; larger files go through bulk list verification in the dashboard.

What does "unknown" mean?

The receiving mail server did not give a reliable answer (for example a timeout or a temporary block). Unknown is neither valid nor invalid; the reason says why.

Verify emails from Gemini CLI

One block in settings.json, your API key, and you are ready.
