temporarily_blocked: the check was greylisted
unknown reason: temporarily_blocked
The mail server greylisted the check: it asked to try again later.
What it means
Greylisting is an anti-spam technique: the first time a server sees a new sender, it answers "try again later" (an SMTP 4xx code). Real mail servers come back and are accepted; many spam tools never do.
The answer says nothing about the mailbox itself, so the result is unknown.
Why it happens
- Greylisting on the receiving server.
- Temporary rate limiting by the receiving server.
What to do
- Verify the address again after some time (from several minutes to a few hours). Greylisting usually lets the second attempt through.
- Do not retry immediately: the server only lets the check through after its waiting period.
