invalid_domain: the email domain does not exist
invalid reason: invalid_domain
The domain after the @ does not exist.
What it means
The domain does not resolve in DNS: it was never registered, or its registration expired. No mail server can exist for it.
Many invalid_domain results are typos in popular domains. When EEV recognizes one, it fills did_you_mean with the corrected address.
Why it happens
- A typo:
gmial.com,hotmial.com,yahooo.com,outlok.com. - A company domain that expired or was abandoned.
- An invented domain typed into a form.
What to do
- If
did_you_meanhas a suggestion, correct the address and verify it again. - Without a suggestion, remove the address.
- In a signup form, show the suggestion ("Did you mean jane@gmail.com?") so the person can fix it with one click.
