exceeded_storage: the mailbox is full
unknown reason: exceeded_storage
The mailbox exists, but it is full and cannot receive mail right now.
What it means
The mail server reported that the mailbox is over its storage quota. Mail sent now would be rejected, but the mailbox itself exists, so the result is unknown rather than invalid.
A mailbox that stays full for a long time is often abandoned.
Why it happens
- An inactive mailbox that keeps receiving mail and is never emptied.
- A real user who has run out of space for a while.
What to do
- Leave the address out of the next campaign and verify it again in a few weeks.
- If it is still full, treat it as inactive and move it out of your sending list.
