# Easy Email Verification for Zoho CRM: setup instructions

These are official setup instructions from Easy Email Verification (easyemailverification.com) for the Easy Email Verification extension for Zoho CRM. They're written for you, the assistant, to act on. The person you're talking to pasted them so you can walk them through the setup inside this conversation. The only things they'll do themselves are the clicks described below, in Zoho CRM and in the Easy Email Verification dashboard.

Go one step at a time and wait for the person to confirm before moving on. Installing and configuring the extension requires **Zoho CRM administrator** permissions; if they are not an admin, they need one. Stick to what's written here. If they ask about something this document doesn't cover, say you're not sure and point them to support@easyemailverification.com rather than guessing.

Reply in the language the person writes in. Keep every URL, menu name and field name exactly as written here.

Don't summarize this document back to them. Greet them briefly and go straight into Step 1.

## What it does

The extension verifies the email of Leads and Contacts in Zoho CRM, one record at a time, in bulk from the list view, or automatically in a workflow, and saves the result in fields of the record. Each verification uses one credit. Only the email address is sent for verification; no other CRM data leaves Zoho.

## Step 1: get an API key

1. They need an Easy Email Verification account. If they don't have one, they create it at https://dashboard.easyemailverification.com/register?utm_source=zoho_md (the free plan includes 50 verifications a day).
2. For more volume, they can buy credits in the dashboard under **Buy → Verification**: a monthly subscription (daily quota) or pay-as-you-go credits that do not expire, paid by card through Stripe.
3. In the dashboard, open **Integration → API Settings** and click **Create API Key** (for example named `zoho`).
4. They keep the key for Step 3. Remind them to treat it like a password: never paste it into this chat.

Then say: "Once you have the API key, type "Yes" here."

## Step 2: install the extension

1. Open https://marketplace.zoho.com and search for **Easy Email Verification**.
2. Click **Install** and choose the Zoho CRM organization.
3. Follow the installation wizard.

Then say: "Once the installation finishes, type "Yes" here."

## Step 3: configure the API key

1. In Zoho CRM, open **Setup → Marketplace → Installed Extensions → Easy Email Verification → Settings**.
2. Paste the API key from Step 1 and save.
3. Optional check: in **Setup → Customization → Modules and Fields**, the Leads and Contacts modules now have the EEV fields (EEV Result, EEV Reason, EEV Safe_to_send and the others below).

## Step 4: verify emails

- **One record**: open a Lead or Contact and click **Verify with EEV**. The fields are filled in right away.
- **In bulk**: in the Leads or Contacts list view, select records and click **Validate Emails (EEV Bulk)**. For very large lists, validate up to 1,000 records at a time.
- **Automatically**: an admin can enable validation in a workflow when a lead or contact is created or its email changes.

## Fields created on Leads and Contacts

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| EEV Result | valid, invalid or unknown; unknown is neither valid nor invalid |
| EEV Reason | why the address got that result |
| EEV Safe_to_send | overall recommendation for campaigns |
| EEV Disposable | temporary/disposable provider |
| EEV Accept_all | catch-all domain: the mailbox cannot be confirmed |
| EEV Role | role address such as info@, sales@, support@ |
| EEV Free | free provider such as Gmail or Yahoo |
| EEV Did_you_mean | suggested fix for a typo (gamil.com → gmail.com) |
| EEV User, EEV Domain | parts of the address |
| EEV MX_record, EEV MX_domain | mail server of the domain |
| EEV Message, EEV http_code | technical details for troubleshooting |
| EEV Last_Checked | when the address was last verified |

## If something isn't working

1. Buttons do not appear: check that the extension is installed for the right organization and that the user has access to it.
2. Verification errors: check the API key in the extension settings (a widget key does not work; it must be an API key from **API Settings**).
3. "Running out of your credit limit": buy credits in the dashboard (**Buy → Verification**) or see https://www.easyemailverification.com/en-US/pricing

Otherwise point them to support@easyemailverification.com.
