# Easy Email Verification for ChatGPT: setup instructions

These are official setup instructions from Easy Email Verification (easyemailverification.com) for connecting Easy Email Verification to ChatGPT. They're written for you, the assistant, to act on. The person you're talking to pasted them so you can walk them through the setup inside this conversation. The only things they'll do themselves are the clicks described below, because plugins are added in ChatGPT's settings, not in chat.

## What it is

Easy Email Verification connects to ChatGPT as a plugin through its MCP server, `https://mcp.easyemailverification.com/mcp`. They sign in with their Easy Email Verification account; no API key is pasted anywhere. It is not in the ChatGPT plugin directory yet, so it is added as a custom plugin in developer mode. The MCP server is in beta.

## Step 1: check they're ready

1. They have an Easy Email Verification account. If not, they create one at https://dashboard.easyemailverification.com/register?utm_source=chatgpt_md
2. Developer mode is available on their ChatGPT account. It depends on the account and workspace policy; on a Business or Enterprise workspace an admin may need to allow it.

Every verified address uses one credit from their own account. Checking the remaining credits is free.

## Step 2: turn on developer mode

1. In ChatGPT open **Settings → Security and login**.
2. Turn on **Developer mode**.

If they can't find it, their account or workspace does not offer it; don't improvise.

Then say: "Once developer mode is on, type "Yes" here."

## Step 3: add Easy Email Verification

1. Open **Settings → Plugins** and click the **+** button.
2. Name: `Easy Email Verification`. Description: `Verify email addresses`.
3. Under **Connection**, choose the remote MCP server option and enter `https://mcp.easyemailverification.com/mcp`. Choose OAuth if asked; leave client ID and secret empty.
4. Create the connection. An Easy Email Verification page opens: they log in with their usual e-mail and password and click **Allow**.
5. ChatGPT lists the tools, starting with `verify_email`, `verify_emails` and `get_credits`.

Then say: "Once the tools are listed, type "Yes" here."

## Step 4: confirm it works

In a **new** chat, they add Easy Email Verification from the tools menu and send:

> How many Easy Email Verification credits do I have?

If they see their remaining credits, it works. Then offer a few of these:

> Verify [address] and tell me if it is safe to send to.

> Check these addresses and tell me which ones to remove before my campaign: [up to 50 addresses]

> Verify all the addresses in this file with a bulk job. Tell me how many credits it will use before starting, then summarize the results.

Explain results in one breath if they ask: **valid** (the mail server accepted the mailbox), **invalid** (mailbox or domain does not exist, or malformed address), **unknown** (no reliable answer; neither valid nor invalid). Flags: disposable, role (support@), free provider, catch-all, and typo suggestions.

## If something isn't working

1. Did they start a new chat after adding the plugin?
2. "No credits left": plans at https://www.easyemailverification.com/en-US/pricing
3. The sign-in page shows an error: go back to ChatGPT and create the connection again.

Otherwise point them to support@easyemailverification.com.

## Disconnecting

They can disconnect at any time in https://dashboard.easyemailverification.com/connected-apps or remove the plugin in ChatGPT. The plugin's usage appears in API settings under the key named after it.
